Uncle WS secret recipe: Chilli crabs and fried mantao

 

For the love of his wife, he learnt this chili crab recipe from the internet. From googling on “how to kill a crab” and “how to clean a crab”, to doing it professionally, he undoubtedly won hearts of his wife and many others (including mum and I). How sweet he is. I love crabs too! *ahem* *hint*  :P

2nd July 2010 – Bloody day

While I’m still in Singapore, roomie suggested another meet up with HuiPin on friday. HuiPin took a 2-hour train from Johor to meet us at 12pm. I was awaken up by roomie’s call at 10am. Was raining whole day and we can’t go anywhere but to remain indoor. Still have some fun window shopping at Bugis and Vivo City.

And the clumsy me got my left index finger cut by a sharp knife while attempting to slice a chocolate swissroll before heading out. Quite a deep cut and blood kept flowing out for several minutes. Now it’s plastered and I can see blood clots inside.

I reckoned I’ve somehow lost hand and leg coordination because my right foot got scratched by bottom of a door while trying to open it. Bled a little. Nothing compare to my finger.

As if I’ve not seen enough blood today, I unconsciously scratched a blemish near my left ear lobe and it bled. Nothing compare to my feet.

Should be lucky that I am not hemophobia.

Nano lego

Now lego also goes nano. It's so tiny I don't think it'll be a good gift for kids.

Not that they are patient enough to build it. My nephew started with a few and I built the rest. It took me an hour or so because I have problem using my finger nails to pick and build. Mum said I have a thing for puzzles and lego since young. I was always determined and patient in completing the whole thing.

I hope that applies to my work and passion.

Zen zen wakali masen

I iz in Singapore now with mum (not grandma because she is suffering from leg pain and her purpose to come sg is to go casino. leg pain = cant walk around casino), so I persuaded mum to come with me. I reckon she needs some time to chill and rest.

I always love to stay in aunt's house. It is so therapeutic looking at the greens and listening to sound of water flowing down.

And my nephew is a chatterbox. He's cute at times but damn talkative.

Job searching, still...

Current status: Job searching

Location: Melaka and heading to Singapore tomorrow (friday) morning with grandma. Staying at aunt's house.

There's a saying that goes like this "never accept the first job offer you received" and I agree with that. I am fresh in the job market and I don't know what is my market value. Many people are afraid to be jobless and thus grab at any offer they have without much thought. And when they did it to their first ever job offer, unless they're lucky, else they start to regret and planning to leave after probation period. That's what I've seen among some of my friends.

Don't rush into decision and Never be afraid to reject offers. If you have made up your mind on your job criteria, you will eventually know what is best for you, unless someone refuse to step into the working world. After an interview, I believe I know whether I will like the job or not based on how far I look forward to work in that particular company and the suitability with my criteria. That's when the two-way communication comes in during interview.

I couldn't claim that I knew instantly on what's my job criteria. All are slowly learn through job searching, interviews with potential employer and researching through internet. It's not the best method but I've nothing to lose either.

And I wouldn't have say/done all these without my supportive parents and boyfriend. They never rush me into working and believe on all my decision. I am so thankful :)

While I'm still jobless (and free), I really shouldn't procrastinate on what I want to learn. Time to get moving and plan my free time!

Durian goodness

Went with dad this morning for our breakfast durian buffet. At only RM20 per person, you can basically choose what variety you prefer (bitter or sweet) and eat all you can! I think it's pretty much a steal because we get to eat organic durian without fear of being cheated.

It's simply irresistible! And yes, we were so bloated and smell like a walking durian after that :P
